While I do not claim to be a professional photographer, I do believe that God has given me an eye for capturing His creation. What I see through my lens humbles me, and reminds me of how complex and wonderful His creation truly is.

Preserving a beautiful sunset, or changing leaves, in a photograph is the perfect way to continuously remind God's children of His grace.

However, one of my favorite categories is macro, or close-up, photography. I absolutely love getting this kind of "up close and personal" shot of a bird, a flower, or a rock. To be able to see a single drop of dew on a petal, the separate layers of even the smallest stone, or the blending of colors in a wing...that is what reminds me of the intricacy of creation.

Praise the Lord from the earth,
You great sea creatures and all the depths;
8 Fire and hail, snow and clouds;
Stormy wind, fulfilling His word;
9 Mountains and all hills;
Fruitful trees and all cedars;
10 Beasts and all cattle;
Creeping things and flying fowl;
11 Kings of the earth and all peoples;
Princes and all judges of the earth;
12 Both young men and maidens;
Let them praise the name of the Lord,
For His name alone is exalted;
His glory is above the earth and heaven.

Bees

I'm terrified of bees. I happen to also be allergic to yellow jackets, so the fear is healthy and warranted. However, not all bees are a danger to me. Today I realized that, even those creature that can cause us physical harm, were designed creatively by God for a specific purpose. He took care with each and every creature, designing even the smallest, most intricate parts to create something beautiful. Even if it's just a pesky bee to us, it is still something marvelous with our Father's signature on it.

Here are some pictures of a little carpenter bee that I found on my walk today. Despite a couple days of freezing weather and a light snow, these little guys stuck around, and were rewarded with warm weather this week.
